Halff is a major subconsultant for construction engineering and inspection on the SR 30 (U.S. 98) Pensacola Bay Bridge replacement project that expands from Escambia County to Santa Rosa County.
This is a 1,770-day, $398.5 million design-build project that constructs two new bridges across Pensacola Bay to replace the old bridge built in 1960. These bridges comprise a major east/west corridor and a hurricane evacuation route.
The new bridges will be constructed parallel and to the west of the existing bridge and have three 12-foot travel lanes, a 65-foot vertical clearance and 150-foot horizontal clearance for marine traffic. Architectural elements include a center arch and shaded observation points along the multiuse path.
